Prof Khin Maung Sint obtained his graduate degrees – MSc and PhD (2010) – from the Faculty of Forest Sciences and Forest Ecology, George-August University, Goettingen, Germany. Before becoming a Professor and subsequently Pro-Rector and Rector (since 2020) of UFES, Dr Sint held various practitioner, state enterprise, and managerial positions at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, such as range officer/ research assistant, environment officer, assistant manager, manager, deputy director, and director/ Assistant Secretary of Planning and Statistics Division. Prof Sint published extensively on the topic of timber species, wood quality, and natural resource management. Prof Sint attended many international trainings on environmental impact assessment, renewable energy, and conflict management and conflict transformation. He has extensive experience in higher education leadership and management in Myanmar.
