Dr Gauchan’s research interests include plant biotechnology, high-altitude medicinal plants, endophytic fungi, organic farming, and underutilized crops. He has worked in the Department of Biotechnology at Kathmandu University since 2005 and has held roles such as Assistant Director and Associate Director of Student Welfare. He has published 60 articles, supervised 8 Ph.D. and 35 master’s students, and served as a visiting professor at Padova University, Italy. He is a senator at Kathmandu University, an executive member of the Nepal Biotechnology Association, and a life member of the Biotechnology Society of Nepal.
