Dr. Chubbamenla Jamir

Chubbamenla is a Botanist by disciplinary training with an MPhil in Environmental Sciences from Jawaharlal Nehru University (India) and a Doctoral degree from the University of York (United Kingdom).

She was previously with the TERI School of Advanced Studies, New Delhi, India as an Assistant Professor from 2012 to 2022. Before that, she was at the Stockholm Environment Institute, York, UK and an Associate at the Environment Department, University of York, UK. She has been on the Advisory Committee of the Global Network for Sustainable Development since 2021; core faculty member at the Global Centre for Food Systems Innovation, USAID (2013–2015); Manager for the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, South Asia Regional Centre (2013–2017); Executive Council Member, International Mountain Tourism Alliance (2019-20).

Besides, she has also organized training workshops on different areas of sustainable development for researchers, students, policymakers, and other stakeholders from India and other countries with support from the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India (ITEC); Department of Personnel Training, Government of India; the United Nations Environment Programme; and the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification, among others.
