Dr Gao holds a doctoral degree in management, and is currently engaged in full-time postdoctoral work at the Institute of South Asian Studies (ISAS) of Sichuan University, China. He has been committed to bilateral and multi-lateral cooperation research between China and South Asian countries for a long time, especially the friendly relations between China and Nepal. He has published many commentary articles on Kathmandu Post and Republica, and published in cooperation with Nepalese scholars an academic work Nepal and Its Neighbours in the Changing World in Kathmandu in 2020. From June 2019 to February 2020, Dr Gao was a visiting scholar at ICIMOD and participated in activities such as the 2019 HUC Academy.
