Liu Peng is an Associate Professor of School of International Studies at Yunnan University and Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, Yunnan University. He was formerly an Associate Professor at the Research Institute for Indian Ocean Economies (RIIO), Yunnan University of Finance & Economics. He holds a PhD from the School of International Studies, at Jinan University. He is also a certified Economic Analyst in banking and was a visiting scholar at Washington University in St. Louis (2015-2016). His research interests include Sino-India relations; the Indian Ocean region; and overseas Chinese. His research papers have been published in journals both in Chinese and English. Dr. Liu was a part of the team translating The Oxford Handbook of Indian Foreign Policy (Oxford University Press, 2015). He was a China-India Scholar-Leader at The New School India China Institute, 2018-2020.
