Prof. Dr. Rajeev Shrestha is the Registrar of Kathmandu University and Professor of Clinical Pharmacology at the Kathmandu University School of Medical Sciences.

He founded and leads the Research & Development Division at Dhulikhel Hospital–Kathmandu University Hospital (since 2014), now one of Nepal’s largest health research units. An alumnus of KU, he earned his PhD in Neuroimmunology from the University of Strathclyde, UK, and completed postdoctoral work there and at the University of Glasgow. He pioneered whole-genome sequencing in Nepal, leads major infectious disease and vaccine research collaborations (including with Harvard, Stanford, and the International Vaccine Institute), and holds significant grants from the NIH and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He is also an Associate Academician at NAST and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Nepal Health Research Council.
