Prof. Saket Kushwaha is the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ladakh. He is a distinguished agricultural economist and academic leader with over three decades of post-doctoral experience in higher education, research, and administration across India and Africa.

He previously served as Vice Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University (Arunachal Pradesh) and L.N. Mithila University (Bihar). He earned his Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from Banaras Hindu University, where he also headed the Department of Agricultural Economics and coordinated the Master of Agri-Business Management programme. He has led more than a dozen national and international research projects supported by USAID, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). He has supervised over 25 Ph.D. scholars and more than 100 M.Phil. scholars. His research focuses on sustainable farming systems, climate resilience, and rural livelihood development.
