Sara Nowreen, PhD

Dr. Sara Nowreen, Professor at IWFM, BUET, Bangladesh, has secured prestigious international research grants including Planet-2023, TWAS-Elsevier-2022, UKRI Rapid Response-2020, APN-CRECS-2020, SDC-HUC-2018, IFS 2018 & 2014; nationals projects like KGF-2020 and ICT-2019; and scholarships such as Bangabandhu-Commonwealth (PhD) and SAWA (MSc). Her research spans climate change impacts on hydrology to IWRM. She has served as visiting researcher at UCL and the UK Met Office, and collaborated on Oxford’s REACH, Newcastle’s Living Deltas Hub, and Germany’s TH-Köln and TU Darmstadt via WebAIS. She published groundbreaking work in top journals, including Science. Dr. Nowreen serves on MRD’s international editorial board, is Associate Editor for Water and Climate (Frontiers). Her work includes aquifer recovery (via KGF), clogging removal (via UNESCO-TWAS), ML-based recharge estimation (via Planet), IoT data logging (via ICT), water history synthesis (via LDH), in-stream flow (via IFS), springshed management (via SDC-HUC), and water security (via APN).
