Dr Hu is an entomologist based in Yunnan University, Kunming, China. His main research interests are butterfly taxonomy (mostly Papilionidae, Pieridae, and Lycaenidae), phylogeography, and diversity distribution and conservation in the Sino-Himalaya region and the Malay Archipelagos. He broadly works with other researchers related to this focus. He also works on invasive insects for the public interests, using ecological methods and population genetics with other researchers.
