Jelle J.P. Wouters teaches Anthropology and Sociology and is the chair of the Himalayan Centre for Environmental Humanities (HCEH), Royal Thimphu College. Previously he taught at Sikkim Central University and was a visiting faculty at Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen. He is the author of In the Shadows of Naga Insurgency (OUP, 2018) and Nagapolis (Barkweaver, 2022), the co-author of Subaltern Studies 2.0: Being Against the Capitalocene (Prickly Paradigm Press, 2022), the editor of Vernacular Politics in Northeast India (OUP, 2022), and the co-editor of The Routledge Handbook of Highland Asia (2022), The Routledge Companion to Northeast India (2023), Storying Himalayan Climes of the Himalaya, Andes, and Arctic (Routledge, 2023), and Himalayan Climes and Multispecies Encounters (Routledge, 2024).
